Proper Perspective – from Oswald Chambers

I have read Oswald Chambers book, My Utmost for his Highest, a number of times over the years. The reason? Entries like this:

“The proper perspective to maintain is that we are here for only one purpose— to be captives marching in the procession of Christ’s triumphs. We are not on display in God’s showcase— we are here to exhibit only one thing— the ‘captivity [of our lives] to the obedience of Christ’ (2 Corinthians 10:5). How small all the other perspectives are! …’We are to God the fragrance of Christ . . .’ (2 Corinthians 2:15). We are encompassed with the sweet aroma of Jesus, and wherever we go we are a wonderful refreshment to God.”

Sunday, 4p – Guy’s DG2 (Disc Golf Discipleship Group)

It’s time, guys! Meet at the disc golf course at Research Park today at 4pm to play disc golf and study the book of Ephesians. Today we will be going over the background of the book. Call if you need a ride or directions. You can find out information about the course and course map here.

Women’s Discipleship Group Tonight

Our Women’s Discipleship Group begins this evening (Thursday) at 7pm.

The Men’s Group will begin Sunday at 4pm and we will meet at the disc golf course at Research Park on TAMU’s West Campus.

DG2 (or How to Not End Up A Tree)

John walked a pipe over a ditch to get this out of a tree for me

Several of us went out Saturday to play disc golf. Besides the fact that 4 of the 9 baskets had disappeared, I almost managed to lose my new driver. Fortunately, it landed in a tree. Unfortunately, it landed in a thorn tree that you had to walk on a pipe over a ditch to get.

John graciously retrieved it. But it means I need more practice.

I need more practice of having Christ in my life, too. So the Guy’s Disc Golf Discipleship Group (DG2) is ready to start back up this Sunday, Sep 6, 4pm, at Research Park. We will be covering the book of Ephesians this semester as we walk, talk, share, pray, and play disc golf.

So bring your discs (or we can loan you some) and join us each Sunday at 4pm for DG2.
